The Zimbabwe School of Mines is a dynamic regional institution that serves the SADC mining industry region by providing competency-based training for high calibre, hands on technicians. For over 70 years the school has been training technicians who have made a positive impact in the mining industry globally. ZSM graduates are also found all over Africa and the rest of the world. Training that is provided is relevant to the mining industry and is constantly revised to meet modern technological requirements. The school is located in Killarney suburb of Bulawayo.

Courses offered lead to the award of Higher Examinations Council (HEXCO) accredited National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in the following fields:
- Mine Geology
- Mine Survey
- Mining
- Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy
- Metallurgical Assaying
ND Entry Requirements
Direct Entry
Five (5) O'Level passes at Grade B or better including English language, Mathematics and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Integrated Science).
Duration: 3 years on full time basis NB: Biology is not considered
Mature Entry
Five (5), O-Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Integrated Science)
At least one (1) year experience in the relevant field in the mining industry
Duration:2 years on full time basis
HND Entry Requirements
Prospective candidates should have the following qualifications:
Diploma or National Diploma in the relevant filed of study
At least one (1) year post qualification experience in the mining industry and relevant field.

Prospective students are required to fill in an application form which must be accompanied by a $20.00 administration fee. Application forms can be obtained at the school or downloaded from the ZSM Website
