INTRODUCTION
This document is a guide on HEXCO examination procedures and regulations at Zimbabwe School Of Mines. All staff and students have to be aware of the contents of this booklet in order to ensure that problems relating to the registration, taking, marking and release of examination results are kept to an absolute minimum.
Examinations are serious business! They are used to assess the amount of learning that will have taken place within the trainee over a period of time and their results are a reflection of the quality of instruction that the trainee was exposed to. This means, therefore, that they are a measure of the standard and level of performance on both the trainee and the school. The Higher Education Examination Council (HEXCO) which is the examining body for this school, uses the examination results to satisfy itself that the requirements as stipulated in its syllabi are met, and for certification purposes.
